Friendship Circle of Virginia
SPRC member Jeff Katz gave a poignant talk about his daugher Julia at the Friendship Circle of Virginia event, "An Evening with Jeff Katz." Friendship Circle aims to create an inclusive community by facilitating friendships and social opportunities for people with and without disabilitities to connect through meaningful social experiences at home and throughout the community. They bring Teen Friends from the community together with Friends with Disabilities at every event, so everyone gets a chance to meet someone new and be a friend.
July 2024 Club Meeting
Shep Roeper, Director/Co-Founder of Beyond Boundaries shared the nonprofit's goals and purpose. They try to ensure that everyone has access to adventure opportunities regardless of physical or financial challenges and that these experiences also make them feel part of the community and empower them as individuals.

Chris Walton, owner of Kitchen 33 and co-founder of American River Restoration, spoke to the club about the hazards of microplastics pollution in our oceans, rivers, and local water sources. American Water Restoration Foundation works to clean up rivers and waterway areas of trash, much of which is plastic.
