SCHOLARSHIPS
Each year the Short Pump Ruritan Club awards scholarships to several deserving graduating seniors from local High Schools.
In 2023, eight (8) scholarships were awarded in the amount of $1,300 each. The number of scholarships may vary from year to year based on available funds. Scholarships can be used for Academic or Vocational studies.
Eligibility Requirements
You are eligible to apply even if you attend a private school or home school. Students must be planning to attend a university, college, or technical school. You must live in the service area of the following high schools:

J. R. Tucker

Mills Goodwin
How are Scholarship Recipients Chosen?
Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Scholarship Committee of the Short Pump Ruritan Club based on the following three criteria:

Academic Achievement
-
Financial Need
-
Leadership and Community Service
Scholarship recipients will be notified in writing by the Short Pump Ruritan Club and will be invited along with their parents to be special guests at our June awards dinner (fourth Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.).
Scholarship applications and required information must be emailed by April 1 (now extended to May 1) in order to be considered. Applications emailed April 2 or after will not be considered.
